Location description¹:

The District of Cuxhaven lies in the middle of the German North Sea coastal line, directly situated along the banks of the rivers Elbe and Weser. With a surface area of 2,072 square kilometres, the administrative district is one of the largest in the federal state of Lower Saxony. The city of Cuxhaven, which is also the district capital, is the economic centre in the north of the region. The district of Cuxhaven has a lot to offer in the fields of its predominant industrial sectors, namely the port and logistics industry, energy, tourism, the food and fish industry, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.
