Thanks to its favorable location on the North Sea and at the mouth of the Elbe and Weser rivers, Cuxhaven is one of the most important port business locations in Germany.
In addition to tourism and the port industry, the fishing industry is of the greatest economic importance for Cuxhaven. The special experience in handling fresh products and a specialized service environment are a good basis for the handling, processing, storage and transport of high-quality foodstuffs. Specialized companies in the field of veterinary and human medicine round off the location profile.
The energy industry is also one of the region's key economic sectors. Due to its geographical and central location, the Cuxhaven offshore base offers ideal conditions for the use of wind energy in the North Sea.
