The municipality of Bunde alternately stages the "Bunder Woche" ("Bunde Week") and the "Euro-Fete" ("Euro Festival") each year alternately in collaboration with the societies and groups. The Bunder Mühle (1869) is one of the loveliest and largest Holland windmills in East Frisia. | Comment on the transport infrastructure: | The municipality of Bunde can be reached via the rail line Bremen - Groningen, via the federal trunk road B 436/E 22, and via the A 31 and A 280 motorways. Bunde has 2 motorway access and exit points; one of these is directly situated next to the Bunde West commercial estate. Apart from its optimal accessibility, the excellent location of this commercial area is also enhanced by its position on the threshold to the Netherlands (A 7 motorway). Thanks to the A 31 motorway, Bunde can already be reached today in 2 hours from the Ruhr Basin industrial region; Groningen/NL is 35 minutes away. Via the A 31 motorway, Bunde is also directly linked to the A 28 motorway in the Oldenburg/Bremen direction. |

Location description¹:
The municipality of Bunde covers 121 km² and is located directly on the German-Dutch border. In the northwest, the municipality borders the Dollart, a North Sea inlet created by storm surges.
According to the regional spatial planning program 2006 of the district of Leer, Bunde is a
> a basic center with the special development task of "recreation" and a location with the priority task of "securing and developing workplaces" (commercial areas).
With regard to settlement development, it states that the central settlement areas and the rural villages are to be further developed in an environmentally, functionally and needs-oriented manner.
In the areas of "housing", "commercial economy" and recreation, Bunde has seen remarkable development, not least due to its good transport connections.
Bunde is a popular shopping destination, also for its Dutch neighbors.
The high residential and recreational value of the municipality of Bunde has been recognized in various competitions with the title of winner. Bunde is a state-recognized resort.
Bunde was the state winner of the competition "Living and living in old age - living and living with disabilities" as well as the district winner of the competition "Our village should become more beautiful" and winner of the competition "Family-friendly community".
