| Other educational facilities¹: | The elementary school in Holthusen, Möhlenwarf, Stapelmoor and Weener are all-day elementary school. The Weener secondary school and currently the Greta Schoon School (special school with a focus on mental development) are located in the town. All secondary schools can be attended in the town of Leer. Day care centers: The town of Weener is responsible for 4 municipal kindergartens and a crèche. The Holthusen, Stapelmoor and Bunte Welt kindergartens in Weener offer all-day care; the Möhlenwarf kindergarten offers morning care. The Ev.-Freik. Gemeinde Weener runs the daycare center "JONA", Auf der Gaste in Weener. Lebenshilfe Leer runs the "FiLius" daycare center in Weener on Floorenstraße and the "FiLius" crèche in Stapelmoorerheide, Dorfstraße. Lunch is available at all facilities. All daycare centers have integration groups. Library: The Weener public library with branches in the districts of Holthusen, Stapelmoor and Möhlenwarf was awarded the VGH Foundation's library prize for small libraries. The collection comprises 15,600 media; the online lending service adds a further 36,000 media to the collection. An online catalog is also available. | Other medical health facilities: | Hospital: Rheiderland Hospital offers a wide range of medical services. This includes basic care in the fields of internal medicine and surgery with a focus on qualified detoxification, vascular surgery, endoprosthetics and physiotherapy. In the immediate vicinity of the hospital is "Haus Fresena", the CMA home for people with chronic multiple addictions. Deaconry: The Diakoniestation Weener e.V. is located at Mühlenstr. 14 in Weener as a contact and referral point for outpatient nursing, elderly, home and family care and meals on wheels. There is also a day care facility at Mühlenstraße 8. Center for the elderly: The Altenzentrum Rheiderland is a care facility. It offers assisted living and short-term care as well as a comprehensive lunch program. A number of apartments for the elderly are located in the immediate vicinity. In the districts of Möhlenwarf and Stapelmoor, there are residential homes for the elderly. | Leisure facilities: | The town of Weener has a large number of clubs and associations with a variety of offers. There is a heated outdoor pool (28°C), a marina, a mini-golf course, a fitness center with sauna, a skating rink and a paddle and pedal station. Youth centers in Weener and Tichelwarf offer young people a varied program. In addition to the connection to the International Dollard Route, there are many other interesting cycle routes. | Cultural facilities: | Organeum The Organeum - Orgelakademie Ostfriesland (East Frisian Organ Academy) in Weener, Norderstr. 18, lies at the hart of an organ landscape with the richest history in the world. Housed in a bourgeois city villa from the late 19th century that has been restored in an exemplary fashion, the academy gives insights into a rich organ culture. Courses, seminars, concert series and excursions are on offer. Theatre presentations from the Landesbühne Nord from Wilhelmshaven Rheiderland Museum of Local History (Heimatmuseum) Earlier a poorhouse, the old, three-winged building in the Neue Straße dating back to 1791 is now home to the museum of local history and culture. The museum is one of the oldest museums in East Frisia and gives insights into the cultural history of the Rheiderland region. |

Location description¹:
The town of Weener (Ems) is a small town with over 1000 years of history. It is located near the Dutch border. The town is a "state-recognized resort" and is known as the "Green Town in Rheiderland". The existing infrastructure makes the town of Weener interesting for young families, but it is also ideal as a retirement home.
In the course of the territorial reform in 1973, the town of Weener was merged from the municipalities of Beschotenweg, Diele, Holthusen, Kirchborgum, Stapelmoor, St.-Georgiwold, Vellage and Weenermoor and Weener.
