Apart from the diverse sport offers available, a golf course, the indoor swimming baths and the a sauna, there are a number of other leisure offers in and around Lilienthal: canoe tours, peat barge trips, moor excursions, riding and equestrian offers, organised guided tours, and traditional festivals and activities. A special experience for the entire family or an entire firm is a trip in our peat barges, the traditional wooden boats with black sail that explore the Devil's Moor along the rivers. |
Cultural facilities: | The Lilienthal open-air stage (Freilichtbühne Lilienthal) is renowned beyond then region with its summer open-air theatre for young and old. Further cultural highlights include the Lilienthal museums such as the Lower Saxony Coach Museum, the School Museum, the museum of local history, and the historic Lilienhof farmyard complex with craft museum. In the Trupe district, the Kunstschau Wümme Wörpe Hamme displays regional art and changing exhibitions. The Nurkens Hof Culture Centre stages art exhibitions, concert, readings, lectures and other attractive events. Apart from that, there are also several music groups and choirs that have won prizes throughout Europe and are always pleased to welcome reinforcements. |
