The space is in good condition and was still in active use until recently. The layout of the space is currently suitable for typical office use. For a new tenancy, we can offer to bring the space up to a new standard and, as far as conditions permit, adapt it to your needs. Many rooms can be altered, as walls are often built using drywall construction, meaning that the layout can be customized in many areas. The Telekom buildings, parts of which are currently still used by Telekom itself, are part of the Poststrasse 1-3 building complex, which also includes the Imperial Post Office. The Imperial Post Office is undoubtedly one of the most striking buildings in Oldenburg's city center and boasts impressive architecture and a prominent location.

The space on the 3rd floor has a total area of approx. 1,080 m². A total of 20 offices of various sizes are available here. One of them is a former call center room with an incredible size of approx. 335 m², which has no supports and was equipped for its former use with an appropriate air conditioning system and raised floor with numerous floor tanks (electricity and LAN) for a large number of employees. For a new use, this space could of course be redesigned to be smaller.

Not fully visible on the floor plans, the floor basically consists of 3 levels, which are at different heights and can be reached via internal stairs. This characteristic results from the fact that the space is spread over different buildings that have historically grown together.

The larger part of one intermediate level can also be reached by elevator, so that accessibility is also guaranteed here. The rear part of this floor boasts an above-average ceiling height, which makes the rooms particularly prestigious.

A kitchenette or social room is available on the upper, small mezzanine level, which can only be reached via a staircase.

The building complex is in a prime inner-city location on the edge of Oldenburg's popular pedestrian zone, not far from the Oldenburg city harbor, the Stautor traffic circle and the castle courtyards.

The tenant structure is made up of various sectors such as restaurants, offices, doctors and service providers.

Thanks to its central location, the building boasts excellent transport links, whether on foot, by bike, car or public transport. Bus stops are within walking distance, as is the main train station.

///// HISTORY OF THE KAISERLICHEN POST [Source: Wikipedia]

The building design for a new post and telegraph service building in Oldenburg submitted by the State Secretary of the Imperial Post Office at the end of 1897 was examined by the Academy of Civil Engineering. By the turn of the century, the premises were no longer sufficient and the Post and Telegraph Office was built in several construction phases from 1901 until 1905 according to the plans of Ernst Hake together with Ewald Freiherr von Rechenberg. The construction costs amounted to 1 million gold marks. On December 8, 1902, the post office was inaugurated in the presence of Grand Duke Friedrich August. In the counter hall, four views of Oldenburg painted in tempera on lime by Grete Waldau attracted particular attention.

In the following years, further extensions were built for the post and telegraphy operations. With further restructuring, the function of the Oberpostdirektion was dissolved in 1943 and transferred to the RPD Bremen.

The post office was able to operate this building complex for decades without major damage until its privatization as Deutsche Telekom. After further privatization and extensive refurbishment until 2014, the building was handed over for its new purpose (offices, restaurant, doctors' surgeries, etc.).
