Location
Location description¹:
The town of Schöningen is located on the south-eastern edge of the Elm. The town of spears is connected to the trunk road network via the nearby A2, B244 and B82. The city of spears gained international fame through the discovery of 300,000-year-old javelins, which are exhibited in the Schöningen Research Museum. The topic of German-German history can also be experienced not far from Schöningen at the Hötensleben border memorial, a fully preserved piece of the GDR border fortifications. Green spaces, golf club, local amenities, town and nature, Schöningen offers its residents and visitors a wide range of leisure and cultural activities.
