Location description¹:
Die Stadt Schöningen liegt am südöstlichen Rand des Elms. Über die nahegelegene A2, die B244 und B82 ist die Stadt der Speere an das Fernstraßennetz angeschlossen. Die Stadt der Speere erlangte internationale Bekanntheit durch den Fund der 300.000 Jahre alten Wurfspeere, welche im Forschungsmuseum Schöningen ausgestellt sind. Auch das Thema der deutsch-deutschen Geschichte ist unweit von Schöningen am Grenzdenkmal Hötensleben als vollständig erhaltenes Stück DDR-Grenzanlage zu erleben. Grünanlagen, Golfclub, Nahversorgungsmöglichkeiten, Stadt und Natur, Schöningen bietet seinen Einwohnern und Besuchern eine Vielzahl an Freizeit- und Kulturangeboten.
