The youngest municipality in the region
The municipality of Molbergen to the west of Cloppenburg has a lot to offer young families in particular. So it is hardly surprising that more than a third of the inhabitants are under 25 years old. An unusually high figure in a nationwide comparison.
Six day nurseries and kindergartens provide care for the youngest children. Two elementary school and a secondary school are also available. The grammar schools and vocational schools in Cloppenburg are easy to reach by bus. And the medical care is also impressive: Four general medical practices and more than ten specialists, including three dentists, have settled in the tranquil town. Pharmacies, supermarkets and other everyday amenities are also just a few minutes away.
Molbergen is also home to many small and medium-sized businesses. The municipality is a reliable partner in the northwest, particularly in the construction, plastics and metal processing and food industries. The direct proximity to the B213 and B72 federal highways means that commuters can get from A to B quickly.
With a population of just under 10,000, Molbergen is one of the smaller municipalities in Oldenburger Münsterland. Nevertheless, there are plenty of leisure activities in the varied natural surroundings. In the Molberger Dose raised bog nature reserve, the whole family can learn about the bog ecosystem in a fun way. On the "Dausenmoorpad" nature trail, 15 exciting stations are waiting to be discovered.
Those who enjoy being out and about in the fresh air can explore the idyllic Soest valley on one of the many cycling and hiking trails. From the Stedingsmühlen estate to the Thülsfeld dam. The fitness trail in Dwergte is a little more challenging. The nearby Dwergte bathing lake can be used free of charge and offers a spacious beach area. There is also a café on site. In the Dwergter Sand nature reserve, which has existed since 1978, horse lovers will find a well-developed network of bridle paths. Young and old can also learn interesting facts about the forest habitat on an educational forest trail. There are numerous information boards on native animal species and a tree quiz along the 3.5-kilometre trail.
And if the weather doesn't play ball, there's always the Molli Bär indoor play park. Children can let off steam on 4,000 square meters of space. There are climbing frames, trampolines, a go-kart track and much more. Pirate castle and bird's nest swings beckon in the adjacent outdoor area. A wide range of food and drink is available on site.
Molbergen also has plenty to offer in the evenings and at weekends. A number of festivals take place in the summer months, including the sports week, the summer night festival and the annual funfair. The Peiterbult also attracts visitors from all over the region year after year. The traditional end-of-harvest festival is organized by the Dwergte vacation village association and features a ram race, children's Olympics and a soccer tournament. Incidentally, soccer fans in Molbergen can score goals in three clubs: BC BW Ermke, SV Peheim-Grönheim and SV Molbergen. The latter is also known nationwide for its athletics division. The New Year's Eve run at the Thülsfelder Talsperre is a firm fixture in the calendars of running enthusiasts from near and far.
