Location description¹:
The municipality of Wedemark is characterized by its excellent geographical location as a business location in the north of the state capital of Hanover in the Hanover region. The very good connection to Hanover Airport and the highway connection provides a good basic framework which is supplemented by the existing network of economic links. Many companies have already deliberately chosen to locate in Wedemark.
The municipal area is divided into 17 districts with administrative headquarters in Mellendorf.
Highway connections
The BAB 7 with the Berkhof and Mellendorf junctions and the BAB 352 with the Hannover-Nord interchange, accessible via the Kaltenweide junction, run through the municipality. Regional connecting roads to the surrounding communities are the L 190, L 383 and L 310.
Bus and rail connections
There are S-Bahn connections to Hanover from the stops Bennemühlen, Mellendorf and Bissendorf every 30 minutes, DB connection on the Hanover-Soltau line several times a day. The nearest ICE train station is Hanover. Timetable information, including information on the numerous bus routes, is available at www.efa.de.
Airport
Hannover-Langenhagen International Airport is approx. 15 km away and can be reached via the S-Bahn (change at the Langenhagen-Mitte stop).
Broadband connection / DSL
Following extensive investment by the local Hanoverian telephone provider htp, the municipality of Wedemark has almost comprehensive high-performance broadband connections of up to 50 Mbit/s via a large number of existing and newly built fiber optic lines. In the central town of Mellendorf, transmission rates of up to 100 Mbit/s are available thanks to vectoring by htp.
