| Object description | With the Osnabrück Science Park, the City of Osnabrück will be developing a prominent location in the direct vicinity of the Westerberg campus belonging to the University of Applied Sciences and University of Osnabrück. On an area covering 8.8 hectares that formerly belonged to the Scharmhorst army barracks, plots are being developed for companies in the fields of knowledge-intensive services, research and development and for research institutes or research projects. A new building for a technology and start-up centre under the name "InnovationsCentrum Osnabrück" is planned on one section; offers of rented premises will be created for innovative start-up enterprises and for R&D projects. The building is also to house facilities offering consulting and advice on the technology and start-up funding provided by the Osnabrück region as well as a centralised range of infrastructure, such as rooms for events. Already now, several innovative start-up entrepreneurs are operating in a former officers' quarters that has been renovated, the so-called Phase 1 of the Osnabrück Science Park. The plots in the Science Park are offered in various different sizes. From the office villa to the development of office properties for rent, the real estate plots are to offer highly differentiated possibilities for becoming involve din the Osnabrück Science Park.
The urban planning for the Osnabrück Science Park is scheduled to be completed in 2011, after which the infrastructure of the estate (access, utilities) will be developed. The existing barracks will be demolished to a major extent. The marketing of the sites in the Osnabrück Science Park is being carried out through the Economic Development Company WFO Wirtschaftsförderung Osnabrück GmbH. |
