Information about data privacy
Even if the data you can call up in our portal (namely public data about industrial/commercial areas, properties, location profiles) is mainly no personal data, you will of course find the names of contacts in organisations, and therefore personal data to a small extent. With this Data Protection Notice, we would like to make it clear to you that we are constantly aware of the need to protect such data and that data privacy is therefore an important aspect of our work.
Although it is difficult to do so when setting up and maintaining an information service in the Internet, we respect and take account of demands for data minimisation (the principle that nothing more than those details that are absolutely essential may be collected and stored) to the greatest possible degree. The data processing procedure of our service is explained in what follows.
1. Responsible body (bodies)
Responsibility in terms of data protection law, i.e. those legally responsible for the correctness of the data and their dissemination, lies with the business promotion institutions and agencies of the administrative districts and self-governing cities within the KomSIS network.
2. Order data processing
As the technical IT service provider for the responsible bodies, regio gmbh in Oldenburg administrates the central EDP services and provides for appropriate security measures in the technical and organisational domains.
3. Processing of user data
When KomSIS.de is accessed, a data set is saved on the web server that contains the following information:
- the page from which the file has been requested,
- the name of the file,
- the date and time of the request,
- the data quantity transferred,
- the access status (file transferred, file not found etc.),
- the description of the type of web browser used, and
- the address of the computer.
The computer addresses of those requesting information are anonymised once every day, i.e. they are replaced with an anonymous (incognito) address. The creation of person-related user profiles is therefore precluded. The data set comprising the above-specified data is evaluated solely for statistical purposes, namely to obtain an overview of the frequency of the hits accessing the site. This anonymous evaluation helps us to adapt the Internet portal to your needs even more effectively.
4. General
a) Cookies
Cookies are small files that teleservice providers store on your computer for a number of different reasons. We do not specify the use of cookies as a precondition. If you allow cookies in your Internet browser, we only store data in the cookie that are used for the sequence control of the application and are not evaluated for any other purposes.
b) Your rights as user
According to Sections 34 and 35 of the German Data Protection Act, you as user (the law refers here to the “data subject”) have the right to demand information from us at any time about what data we have stored about you and the purpose of this storage. Moreover, you can correct any incorrect data or demand the deletion of data that has been inadmissibly stored or is no longer required.
